A collector’s edition commemorative DVD package for Stanley Kubrick’s “A Clockwork Orange”.
It features a box that is not only a nod to name, but also wrapped in an eerie fleshy orange material that recalls the themes of human-ness & free will. It also features the Futura font, mid-century modern legs, & a 70’s interior — all intentional design nods to Kubrick’s style.
There is a milk carton that Alex & the boys might drink from, as well as a booklet that contains the final chapter of Anthony Burgess’ novel (not included in the film). In this chapter, Alex is redeemed on his own volition — thereby changing the entire theme of the film. The text is also interspersed with segments of Beethoven's 9th — an important musical element of the film & novel that further endorses the themes of freedom, passion, & human individuality.
